Wise advice from Doug at Townside Gardens: The whitetail bucks are sporting their new antlers. Soon they’ll be looking for young trees to rub the velvet off their horns. Use wood stakes, steel reinforcing rods, split drainage pipe, etc….to protect single and multistem trees and evergreen trees. Put them in place now, remove in Feb-Mar. Save for next year!

This Royal Star Magnolia is really showing off today! Magnolia stellata is a beautiful deciduous tree with blooms emerging in Spring. Mature growth habit is 10-15 feet tall and 10-12 wide.

Back in September, our Greenhouse Manager, Grace, planted this unique living wreath. It’s made of hardy Hens and Chicks. We are so happy with the way it grew in! Since we only have this one wreath we figured why not post to instagram and sell it to the first person who claims it. The wreath can live outside year round and can be redecorated for each season. The only care it needs is some sunlight and a good soak once in a while!
*Rules* first person to comment SOLD gets to buy the wreath. Price is $150. We will hold for 24 hours before we move on to the second person to comment.
